Jack Betham, a friend who captured a lot              Colin Hallam (my dad) who spent most of his time

of good skateboarding on still and motion picture.           enjoying and capturing on film what his kids had a

                                                                                                                     passion for-thanks dad, you rule.

In 1980, both Jack and my dad started the Auckland skateboard association in an attempt to keep skateboarding alive. These were hard times in skateboarding, the commercial parks were closing and most of the main stream skaters were turning towards BMX. But their efforts were not in vain, a lot of the skateboarders that they helped nurture through the competitions and fund raisers that they organised went on to bigger and better things both with skating and their lives, and these same young kids now have children of there own and they to are encouraging them into the sport.
